What Do You Actually Pay for Kinetic Internet?

Updated

Kinetic advertises fiber internet from $19.99 a month and a gig for $39.99, and its "Kinetic Promise" says there are no hidden fees. Those prices are real, but they come with conditions. Your bill depends on whether you set up AutoPay, how you get your bill, what equipment and add-ons you choose, and what happens when the price guarantee ends.

We went through Kinetic's plan page and its offer conditions on October 2, 2026. Here's what you'll actually pay.

Kinetic's advertised prices

PlanAdvertised pricePrice guarantee
Fiber 100 Mbps$19.99/mo1 year
Fiber 300 Mbps$34.99/mo1 year
Fiber 1 Gig$39.99/mo1 year
Fiber 2 Gig$59.99/mo2 years
Fiber Max 2 Gig$79.99/mo3 years

Prices are for new customers in select markets and include a $5 monthly AutoPay credit. Taxes, fees and surcharges are extra. Kinetic notes that prices vary by location, so your address may show a different number.

1. The AutoPay credit is built into the price

Every advertised Kinetic price assumes a $5 monthly AutoPay credit. Skip AutoPay and the plan costs $5 more. Kinetic's terms also say the credit needs its own enrollment and can take up to two billing cycles to show up, so your first bill or two may be higher even if you signed up. Check your account to make sure it was applied.

2. Paper bills cost $4 a month

Kinetic charges $4 a month for printed bills in most states. Its terms exclude Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas, plus anywhere the charge isn't allowed. Switching to electronic billing avoids it.

3. Taxes, fees and surcharges

Like most providers, Kinetic doesn't include taxes, fees or surcharges in its advertised prices. These vary by state and city, and they're the main reason a $39.99 plan rarely shows up as exactly $39.99 on your bill. Ask for an estimated first-month total before you order.

4. Equipment and Wi-Fi

Kinetic installs a Wi-Fi 7-capable gateway, and professional installation is free. Its offer terms say monthly equipment fees "may apply" if equipment isn't included in your plan. Kinetic doesn't publish a single equipment fee on its plan page, so ask your sales rep directly: "Is there a monthly charge for the gateway or extenders on this plan?"

The Fiber Max 2 Gig plan removes the guesswork. It includes the eero Pro 7 gateway, extenders as needed, eero Plus security and premium tech support.

Two more equipment rules matter. If you cancel, you need to return Kinetic's equipment or you may be charged up to $100. And if you want eero's security features on a plan that doesn't include them, eero Secure is $5 a month and eero Plus is $10 a month.

5. What happens after the price guarantee

This is the biggest variable. Kinetic guarantees its everyday price for one year on 100 Mbps, 300 Mbps and 1 Gig plans, two years on Fiber 2 Gig and three years on Fiber Max. After that, or if you move or change service, rates "are subject to change at any time." Kinetic doesn't post its standard rates next to the promotional ones, so you won't know the exact year-two price from the website.

Some Kinetic promotions also use temporary bill credits, such as $10 a month off a gig plan for up to a year. When a credit expires, your rate rises to the standard price at that time.

What a Kinetic gig might really cost

Here's a simple example for the 1 Gig plan, before taxes and fees:

  • With AutoPay and paperless billing: $39.99
  • Without AutoPay: $44.99
  • Without AutoPay and with paper bills: $48.99
  • Add eero Plus security if not included: $10 more

On the plus side, AT&T wireless customers can take $20 a month off Kinetic plans of 300 Mbps and up, and qualifying plans include a prepaid Mastercard worth up to $200. Those perks can more than cover the extras for some households.

How to keep your Kinetic bill low

  • Turn on AutoPay and paperless billing at signup, then confirm both credits on your second bill.
  • Ask about equipment charges before the technician arrives.
  • Claim any prepaid card promptly; card offers have deadlines and expiration dates.
  • Set a reminder a month before your price guarantee ends and call to ask about current offers.
