What airline uses Viasat?

JetBlue, Virgin America and United Airlines have used Viasat Internet services and plans are under way for El Al Airlines and Qantas Airways to join the list.

Passengers on commercial and private flights expect the internet while on board whether to work, relax, or keep their children entertained. Viasat offers its high-capacity Ka-Band network connectivity to commercial airlines. An in-flight connectivity terminal connects the satellite signal to the plane and has been built to adapt to future innovations as they get implemented. Passengers can stream content at will. In some cases, the internet access can be included in the ticket price and in others it may be extra. This permits access to websites, applications, and streaming media as the flight crew accesses the flight operational data.

Viasat optimizes the connectivity pipeline to deliver fast internet in the air. It will mirror the internet experience passengers have on the ground. This enhances the customer experience.

The soon-to-be-launched Viasat-3 satellite will be the third unit in the Viasat constellation. Each satellite has the capacity to deliver more than 1TB of data. The network can scale to meet the needs of passengers at present and in future.
