Is it Hard to Cancel HughesNet?

Canceling HughesNet requires some effort on your part. Here are the steps you need to follow. Begin by dialing 1-877-697-2926 as cancellations can only be processed through a phone call. Try to call early or late during business hours to minimize wait times. During the call, expect to be presented with retention offers or deals to encourage you to stay, but if your decision remains to cancel, confirm it with the representative. HughesNet will send a box for you to return the modem, power supply, and outdoor radio transmitter. To detach these items, you'll need a Phillips-head screwdriver and either an adjustable wrench or a 7/16 wrench. Loosen the cables manually or using a wrench, and use the screwdriver to detach the radio from its mount. Note that although the instructions may suggest cutting the cable to the radio (since it's not being returned), you may prefer to unscrew it instead to retain the option of connecting an antenna in the future.

After packing and sealing the box with the provided tape, affix the provided label and deliver it to a staffed UPS location or hand it over to a UPS driver. Keep in mind that there will be a cancellation fee depending on the duration of your service agreement term. If you cancel within the first 90 days, the fee is $400. Beyond that period, deduct $15 for each full month you have completed under your contract.
