How Do I Factory Reset My Viasat Modem?

You can perform a factory reset on your modem by taking the following steps. There are three ways to reset the modem.

The preferred method for the reboot is to unplug your modem from the electric outlet. Remove the power cord from the wall. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Wait until all LED lights on the modem are solid. This will reboot the modem. Wait a few more minutes for all your devices to reconnect. This is the recommended method.

You can also use the My Viasat smart phone app to reboot your modem. Open the app on smart phone and see if an issue has been detected in your equipment. Follow the prompts. The app will send a signal to your modem to reboot.

Finally, you can sign up for the free text service with Viasat by texting JOIN to 20715. After you do that, text RBT to 20715 and your modem will automatically reboot.

If the issue is actually with your wireless router and Viasat modem, turn off the computer connected to the Viasat modem, and then unplug the router. Unplug the modem from the electrical outlet. If you have an Ethernet cable connecting your computer to the modem, disconnect and, wait a few moments, then plug it back in securely. If you have a combination Wi-Fi-Modem unit just unplug that device and plug it back in.
