In addition to adding Viasat Voice Home Service to your bundle, you can also use your Viasat internet connection to handle cellular data usage on your smartphone if your cellular network plan limits you to just a few GB of cellular data per month. This can become a potential money-saver once you compare your Viasat internet data plan and the data plan on your cellular network. When your phone is using cellular data, you are tapping into your cell phone plan’s data allowance. Each video you stream on social media while on your smart phone uses cellular data. It might be smarter to switch your phone settings to using Wi-Fi while on your smartphone and then select your Viasat home Wi-Fi network. To be sure this will draw down on your monthly high-speed internet data allocation from Viasat but you do get unlimited data at slower speeds so once you max out the higher speed allocation you’ll still get cellular data at a slower speed and you won’t be charged more by Viasat for this. On the other hand, if you exceed your monthly data usage limit set by your phone carrier then you can incur extra charges.
