Does Viasat Have a Bonus Zone?

Yes, but it's not available in all areas. Like HughesNet’s Bonus Zone, Viasat also offers a period of time each day where data restrictions are lifted, and customers can use the internet without it counting against their data allotment. Viasat calls this the Free Zone. It’s only available in some areas though, so you may not be able to order a plan with access to the Free Zone.

Viasat Free Zone

Viasat’s Free Zone lasts either 3 or 5 hours depending on the service plan. If you still have data left on your plan, data usage during the Free Zone hours will not be counted against it. If you have already used all your available data for the month, your speed will still be restored during the Free Zone hours, and you can use the internet normally. The classic plan Free Zone is from midnight to 5 a.m., the Free Zone for the Evolution and Essential plans lasts from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m., and the Liberty plans have a Free Zone from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Not all plans have a Free Zone. Be sure to check your service agreement to make sure your plan includes one. You can still purchase additional highspeed data during the Free Zone hours, but any data used during those hours will still not be counted against your available data.
