Kinetic Income Assist: 200 Mbps Fiber for $20 a Month, Who Qualifies and How to Apply
Updated

Kinetic Income Assist is a $20-a-month plan for 200 Mbps fiber internet, offered to qualifying households wherever Kinetic sells fiber in New York State. Confirm the final bill, equipment terms, and any taxes or fees with Kinetic before ordering. You qualify through programs like SNAP, Medicaid or the National School Lunch Program. You apply by sending Kinetic a form, proof of the program and a photo ID, and Kinetic checks both your eligibility and whether fiber reaches your address.

How to apply
- Check that Kinetic fiber serves your area. Kinetic lists New York communities including Jamestown, Fulton, Manlius, Phoenix and Central Square, but not every address in those areas has fiber.
- Fill out the Income Assist application form on Kinetic's site.
- Send the form, a copy of your program proof and a copy of a government photo ID by email or mail. Don't send originals.
- Wait for Kinetic to approve you, ask for more information, or tell you fiber isn't available at your address.
New customers shouldn't place a regular order first; apply, and Kinetic will contact you to start service once you're approved. Existing customers who qualify are moved to 200 Mbps at $20 from the date their eligibility is confirmed.
Outside New York
Income Assist is a New York plan. Kinetic customers in other states can still check federal Lifeline, covered in our guide to low-income internet through Windstream, and see what Kinetic plans really cost. In rural areas without fiber, Starlink, Viasat and Hughesnet are the satellite options; Viasat advertises plans with speeds up to 80 Mbps; verify the actual offer and terms for your address.
