What Channel Is Space City Home Network On? Astros and Rockets Channel Guide
By RSINC editorial team | Updated

Space City Home Network (SCHN) is the regional TV home of the Houston Rockets and Houston Astros. On Xfinity, it's on channel 39 and 639 in HD. DIRECTV carries it on 674, and AT&T U-verse has it on 758 and 1758 in HD. Without cable, you can stream it with SCHN+ for $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year.
For national NBA coverage, see our Peacock game guide. Home internet shoppers can compare Xfinity and other providers by address.
When Rockets and Astros games overlap, or when another event runs long, SCHN moves one game to its overflow channel, SCHN2. Here's where to find both.
SCHN and SCHN2 channel numbers (October 2026)

These numbers come from SCHN's own channel listings. Channel availability depends on your package and ZIP code, so check your lineup before game night.
Watching without cable: SCHN+
SCHN+ is the network's streaming service. A direct subscription costs $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year, and you can cancel anytime. You need to live in SCHN's home TV area, which covers the Houston region and parts of nearby states. Use SCHN's channel finder with your ZIP code to check.
If you already get SCHN through DIRECTV, DIRECTV Stream, U-verse, Fubo or I-Net, you can stream SCHN+ at no extra cost by signing in with your provider account. Xfinity is not named in the current SCHN+ support page’s participating-login list. Check your account before buying a second service; the network lists Xfinity’s linear channels as 39 and 639 HD.
Rockets games this season
SCHN carries most Rockets games. Games picked for exclusive national broadcast on ESPN, ABC, NBC, Peacock or Prime Video aren't on SCHN. Our NBA on Peacock guide covers the Peacock and NBC games. Outside SCHN's home area, NBA League Pass is the main way to watch, with local blackouts.
Astros games
For Astros viewing, use the current team broadcast schedule. Regular-season regional coverage and national postseason rights are different; a regional subscription does not establish access to every playoff game.
Which option costs less?
Compare the $199.99 annual SCHN+ charge with the number of $19.99 monthly payments you expect to use. Check renewal and cancellation terms; cancelling an annual plan does not necessarily produce a refund for unused months. An existing qualifying TV-provider login may avoid a second subscription.
For national games, separately compare the networks or streaming services assigned to those matchups. Use our NBA on Peacock guide and streaming connection guide when planning the full setup.
