Quick answer (as of October 7, 2026): Kinetic Business sells fiber internet with equal upload and download speeds in three plans: 300 Mbps for $49.99/mo, 1 Gig Business Ready Internet for $99.99/mo and 2 Gig Business Ready Internet for $129.99/mo. Prices are starting rates for new customers and include a $5/mo AutoPay credit. Taxes and fees are extra, and the price can vary by address.

Kinetic, Windstream's internet brand and now part of Uniti Group, sells small business fiber through Kinetic Business. Below is our plan-by-plan breakdown from Kinetic's own pages and terms, checked October 7, 2026, plus the fine print most small businesses miss and the questions to ask before you sign.

Kinetic Business plans and prices (as of October 7, 2026)

Fiber 300 Mbps (Internet Only)$49.99/mo$54.99/moOne Wi-Fi network, free installation, 24/7 support2 yearsNone listed
Fiber 1 Gig Business Ready Internet$99.99/mo$104.99/moFour Wi-Fi networks, built-in cybersecurity, automatic internet backup, Business Ready app, Business Ready gateway (listed as a $19.99 value), free installation, 24/7 support2 years$100 prepaid Mastercard
Fiber 2 Gig Business Ready Internet$129.99/mo$134.99/moSame as 1 Gig Business Ready3 years$200 prepaid Mastercard

The "without AutoPay" column is our math: Kinetic's advertised prices include a $5 monthly AutoPay credit. Kinetic says the credit needs a separate enrollment and can take up to two bill cycles to appear. Taxes, fees and surcharges are extra. Kinetic also says pricing varies by location, and its fine print mentions a $74.99 rate some locations may get without naming the plan. One Kinetic campaign page lists the entry Internet Only tier as 500 Mbps for the same $49.99. So treat these as starting prices and get the quote for your exact address.

What the extra $50 a month buys: Internet Only vs Business Ready

The jump from the 300 Mbps plan to 1 Gig Business Ready is more than speed. Here is what Kinetic lists for Business Ready Internet and what each feature means day to day:

  • Four separate Wi-Fi networks. Kinetic suggests one each for staff, guests, connected devices and point-of-sale. Kinetic says the isolated POS network "helps" with PCI compliance. That doesn't make you compliant, so ask your payment processor what they require. For the guest network, see our guide to checking whether a guest network is secure.
  • Automatic internet backup. If the fiber line goes down, traffic is meant to fail over so card readers and other critical devices stay online. Read the details below before counting on it.
  • Built-in cybersecurity with firewall protection for the Wi-Fi networks, managed in the Business Ready app. Kinetic's terms say the security features carry no warranty and won't catch every threat, so keep your own device security.
  • Phone lines. Kinetic's business phone page says Business Ready Internet comes with up to three lines.

If you just need a fast connection for a few people and already have your own router, firewall and backup plan, the 300 Mbps Internet Only plan covers the basics for half the price.

The fine print that matters for a small business

"No annual contracts" vs. the service agreement

Kinetic's plan pages say there are no annual contracts. Its Business Service Terms (version 2025-08) still tie service to a term written in your Service Agreement, so read that document before you sign. Under those terms:

  • After the term ends, service renews month to month, and Kinetic can raise rates to its then-current prices.
  • Kinetic can change monthly charges with at least 30 days' notice.
  • Canceling during a term can cost the monthly charge for every month left, and canceling after you sign but before installation can cost six months of charges.
  • Either side must give at least 45 days' notice before the end of a term to cancel. Disconnect requests count only through Kinetic's online portal or by phone.
  • Moving requires at least 90 days' written notice plus applicable installation charges.

None of that is unusual for business service, but you want the term length written down. If your agreement really is month to month, the months-remaining math stays small.

The backup connection isn't a second line

Kinetic's fine print says automatic failover depends on cellular coverage and may not work during regional emergencies such as hurricanes or floods. The Business Ready product terms on Kinetic's terms page (dated Dec. 19, 2024) describe the backup as handing traffic to a device such as your mobile phone, a standalone hotspot or a second wired connection, and say "the backup connection itself is not included." Ask whether your order includes a cellular backup device and data, or whether you need to supply your own. Our guide to small business uptime, SLAs and redundancy covers how to plan for outages.

99.9% reliability is a track record, not an SLA

Kinetic advertises 99.9% network reliability, measured by Kinetic from March 2023 to December 2025 and excluding planned maintenance and emergencies. Its terms also say it can't guarantee specific speeds or uninterrupted service, and that speeds are provisioned within a range. Kinetic's small business plan pages don't mention a service-level agreement, so if a guaranteed uptime credit matters to you, ask what's available.

Fees and equipment

  • Printed paper bills cost $3.99 a month, except in Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
  • Kinetic's modem is included, but additional equipment can cost extra. Return the modem when service ends, or a $100 fee may apply.
  • The prices and rewards are for new customers who haven't had Kinetic Internet in the past 30 days.
  • The prepaid Mastercard comes after activation and 90 days in good standing, one card per location. Government accounts, including E-Rate and RHC, don't qualify, and a mailed card has a $3 shipping fee taken from its value.
  • After the price guarantee ends, or if you move, change or suspend service, the rate can change.

Static IP addresses

Kinetic Business supports static IPs. Its business support site has a page for customers who need their static IP details re-sent. Kinetic's public plan pages don't list a static IP price as of October 7, 2026, so ask for one on your quote. Kinetic's service terms say assigned IP addresses stay Kinetic's property and must be given up when service ends. If you switch providers later, plan to update anything tied to the address, such as a VPN, remote camera access or firewall rules. Not sure you need one? See dynamic vs static IP addresses.

Business phone service

Kinetic Business Phone includes unlimited local and long-distance calling, spam call alerts, three-way calling, call forwarding and speed dial. You can keep your current number, and an IP desk phone with basic PBX features is available. Kinetic's phone page says bundling phone with internet gets the first line for $20 a month, while the internet fine print says voice bundle fees are extra. Ask whether the lines included with Business Ready Internet have any monthly charge. Kinetic also sells Microsoft Teams voice calling for businesses that already run on Teams.

Where Kinetic Business is available

Kinetic says its business fiber reaches more than 150 communities in 18 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Texas. Fiber isn't available everywhere within those states, so check your exact business address. Under Kinetic's terms, you're responsible for building access and any landlord permission, and unusual wiring or construction can add cost or delay installation. If you lease, ask your landlord first.

Business vs. residential Kinetic pricing

For comparison, Kinetic's residential site listed fiber at $34.99 for 300 Mbps, $39.99 for 1 Gig and $59.99 for 2 Gig with AutoPay in select markets on October 7, 2026. The business plans cost more because they come with business terms and support, and at 1 Gig and up, the Business Ready backup, security, multi-network Wi-Fi and phone lines. Is Kinetic Business right for you? A quick checklist

  • Good fit: you take card payments, offer guest Wi-Fi, upload large files or run video calls all day, and want backup and security in one bill. Fiber's equal upload and download speeds help with cloud backups and security camera uploads.
  • Good fit: a small office of a few people that needs reliable fiber without IT staff. The 300 Mbps plan is the budget pick.
  • Look further: you need a guaranteed SLA, dedicated bandwidth or many static IPs. Ask Kinetic about its advanced business solutions, or compare dedicated internet access.
  • Look further: you're in a storm-prone area and need backup that works when cell towers are strained. Plan a second wired connection or a separate backup.

Questions to ask before you sign

  1. Which plans and prices are available at my exact address, and is the entry tier 300 Mbps or 500 Mbps here?
  2. What is my monthly total after taxes, fees and surcharges, with and without AutoPay?
  3. What term length is on my Service Agreement, and what would I owe if I cancel early or move?
  4. Does the price guarantee protect me from the "30 days' notice" rate changes in the service terms?
  5. Does my Business Ready order include a cellular backup device and data, or do I supply the hotspot?
  6. How much is a static IP, and how many can I get?
  7. Are the included phone lines free, and what does each extra line cost?
  8. What equipment is included, what costs extra, and what happens if equipment isn't returned?

Ask for Kinetic's broadband label too. Our guide to reading an FCC Broadband Facts label shows what to look for.
