More than 950 homes and businesses in northwest Louisiana can now get high-speed internet from Comcast. ConnectLA, the state broadband office, announced on Oct 16, 2026, that Comcast has finished projects reaching more than 300 locations in Bossier Parish and more than 650 in Caddo Parish, in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.

How the projects were paid for

The builds ran through ConnectLA's Granting Unserved Municipalities Broadband Opportunities program, known as GUMBO 1.0, which targets areas that lacked service. Federal money came from the U.S. Treasury's Capital Projects Fund, with private investment from Comcast. The announcement didn't give the project cost, the prices customers will pay or connection speeds. ConnectLA said in July that GUMBO 1.0 had passed $100 million in infrastructure payments statewide.
