Astound Price for Life: Check the Rate and the Terms
By RSINC editorial team | Updated

Astound advertises Price for Life, but a locked service rate is different from a fixed total bill. Before ordering, get a written quote showing your plan, the price-lock option, discounts and additional charges. The offer must be available at your address.
Why the website shows both $40 and $45
Checked November 6, 2026, Astound's special-offers page displays a $45 Gig WiFi headline while regional FAQ copy also lists $40 Gig offers. Its dedicated Price for Life comparison shows $45 and $65 rates, and its disclaimers describe a $5 monthly Price for Life option for Gig+ service. Those details do not establish one universal checkout price. Ask whether the lock is included in the quoted rate or costs extra.
Do not assume two figures describe identical products or eligibility. Save the address-specific order summary and the applicable terms. Our Astound bill guide helps organize the recurring and one-time charges.
What the lock covers
The advertised protection concerns the qualifying monthly internet service rate while that service is maintained. Additional fees, equipment, taxes, surcharges and discounts can change. AutoPay and paperless-billing discounts have their own requirements, including qualifying ACH enrollment in the advertised offers.
Questions to ask before ordering
- Which service and speed tier qualifies for the lock?
- What is the recurring total after equipment and other charges?
- What happens if you change a tier, move, disconnect or stop using the required payment method?
- Which installation or activation charges appear on the first bill?
- Are any reward-card conditions separate from the service agreement?
Ask for answers tied to the actual offer, rather than relying on a general advertisement. Keep your order confirmation so you can compare the first bill against it. Treat a reward card as a separate benefit rather than subtracting it from every future month's bill.
Compare the right level of service
A price lock can make a plan easier to budget for, but that does not mean the highest speed tier is the best choice. Compare the services available at your address, the equipment you need and how long you expect to keep the plan. If affordability is the main concern, check eligibility for Internet First separately.
Our November internet offers guide provides another starting point. If switching away from an existing contract, review your termination terms before placing a new order.
