In Benton City, Ziply said service is available to the first group of addresses out of more than 500 under construction across the city. In Cascade, the first 250 addresses of nearly 850 are ready for service. In both towns, Ziply says construction to the remaining homes and businesses will continue over the next several weeks. Why fiber matters in a small town

Fiber gives each home its own connection, so speeds don't sag when neighbors are online. Symmetrical uploads help with video calls, cloud backups and security cameras, and latency is lower than cable for gaming. In towns where the choices have been DSL, fixed wireless or satellite, that's a big jump.

If your address isn't ready yet, satellite and 5G home internet can tide you over without a contract. Starlink is widely available in both areas, and Viasat is guaranteed at 80 Mbps down and 3-5 Mbps up.
