Gateway Fiber Expansion: Cape Cod, Milwaukee and New Financing
By RSINC editorial team | Updated

Gateway Fiber's recent expansion announcements identify Cape Cod and Milwaukee as markets to watch. Its October 28, 2026 financing release adds funding context, but a company announcement is different from confirmation that a specific home can be connected today. Check your street address rather than assuming an entire named city is ready.
Cape Cod: Falmouth first
Gateway's September 23 announcement says it will initially build and activate service in Falmouth, with plans to expand across Cape Cod, including the Barnstable and Yarmouth area. The release says construction was underway and forecast availability later in 2026. That was the company's expectation at the time, not an installation date for every property.
The company invited residents and businesses to pre-order and receive construction and availability updates. A place on that list is useful for following the build, but it should not be treated as a completed connection or a guarantee that a particular appointment is available.
Milwaukee: an announced build-out
Gateway's August 27 announcement says it is preparing fiber service for Milwaukee residents and small businesses and that Wisconsin pre-orders are open. It also describes a planned ribbon-cutting later in the year, with details to follow. The announcement does not establish citywide service activation.
Keep the distinction between a market announcement, neighborhood construction and a ready-to-install address. If you are moving or arranging service for a business, ask for a written installation commitment before relying on a future build.
What the October financing supports
Gateway announced a $578 million financing platform comprising a $333 million asset-backed securitization and a $245 million development facility. The release says proceeds support refinancing, reserves, expenses and growth, with the development facility funding network construction. It describes services active across six states as of that October announcement.
Those figures should not be presented as $578 million spent entirely on new construction. An active-service footprint and a footprint that includes future construction describe different stages of expansion.
How to check your own location
- Use Gateway's current address checker or pre-order page.
- Determine whether the result means available now, under construction, planned or only an expression of interest.
- Ask about installation, the broadband label, equipment and the ongoing monthly price.
- Keep a working connection until the new service is installed and tested.
