What Channel Is truTV on DIRECTV?
Updated
truTV is channel 246 on DIRECTV. The number is the same whether you watch by satellite or on DIRECTV streaming, and TBS sits right next door on 247. One catch: truTV isn't in the entry-level ENTERTAINMENT package. It starts with CHOICE and is also included in ULTIMATE and PREMIER.
That matters more than usual this week. TNT Sports is simulcasting the 2026 American League Division Series and American League Championship Series on TBS, truTV and HBO Max, so the same game is on 246 and 247 at the same time. If 246 won't tune on your package, switch to TBS on 247 and you won't miss a pitch.
Quick answer: truTV on DIRECTV
- truTV: channel 246 (HD)
- Packages with truTV: CHOICE, ULTIMATE and PREMIER (not ENTERTAINMENT)
- TBS: channel 247, included in all four Signature packages
- TNT: channel 245, also in all four Signature packages
- MLB postseason: ALDS and ALCS games air on TBS and truTV together
truTV, TBS and TNT channel numbers on DIRECTV
| Network | DIRECTV channel | Lowest Signature package that includes it |
|---|---|---|
| truTV | 246 | CHOICE |
| TBS | 247 | ENTERTAINMENT |
| TNT | 245 | ENTERTAINMENT |
The three networks sit side by side in the 240s, so flipping between them takes one press of the channel button. For more on TBS's slot and packages, see our guide to what channel TBS is on DIRECTV.
Which DIRECTV packages include truTV?
| Signature package | truTV (246) | TBS (247) |
|---|---|---|
| ENTERTAINMENT | No | Yes |
| CHOICE | Yes | Yes |
| ULTIMATE | Yes | Yes |
| PREMIER | Yes | Yes |
Bottom line: CHOICE is the lowest Signature package with truTV. truTV isn't part of the free MyFree DIRECTV tier, and DIRECTV's Spanish-language ÓPTIMO MÁS package carries TBS but not truTV. If you're on ENTERTAINMENT, you still get every TBS broadcast on 247, which covers the simulcast postseason games.

How to find truTV on your DIRECTV receiver
- Enter the number: press 2-4-6 on your remote.
- Search: say or type "truTV" to see what's on now and what's coming up.
- Use the guide: press Guide and scroll to the 240s, where TNT, truTV and TBS sit together.
- Record the game: select the listing and set a recording so you can start from the first pitch if you're running late.
- Can't tune 246? Your package likely doesn't include truTV. Turn to TBS on 247 for the same postseason game.
Watching truTV in the DIRECTV app
If truTV is part of your package, you can watch it live in the DIRECTV app on your phone, tablet or streaming device. Sign in with your DIRECTV login and search "truTV." HBO Max also streams the ALDS and ALCS. Whether HBO Max comes with your DIRECTV account depends on your package, so check your account before game time if you plan to stream there.
truTV and the original Court TV
If the name rings a bell from an earlier era, there's a reason. truTV took over the channel that was the original Court TV when the network rebranded in 2008. Today's Court TV is a separate network that relaunched in 2019. If you have Spectrum and want that one, see what channel Court TV is on Spectrum.
