Spectrum said on October 20, 2026 that its fiber network now reaches nearly 1,550 more homes and businesses in Fayette County, Indiana, in areas around Connersville that had little or no high-speed internet. The new lines offer speeds up to 1 Gbps, with plans starting at 500 Mbps, and Spectrum says there are no modem fees, data caps or contracts. Residents can check when service reaches their address at spectrumruralexpansion.com.

What Spectrum is offering in Fayette County

  • Internet starting at 500 Mbps, with speeds up to 1 Gbps
  • No modem fees, no data caps and no contracts
  • Spectrum Mobile, with Unlimited lines starting at $30 a month when you have Spectrum Internet
  • Spectrum TV plans that include streaming apps such as Peacock Premium with ads and the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Unlimited bundle

Spectrum did not list internet prices in its announcement, and prices vary by address and offer, so check your ZIP for current plans.

Part of a larger rural build

The Fayette County work is part of Spectrum's rural construction program, which the company says is backed by more than $7 billion and will add more than 100,000 miles of fiber to reach more than 1.7 million new locations. It follows similar Indiana announcements in Parke, Scott, Sullivan and Warrick counties. "Spectrum's broadband expansion in Fayette County will be helpful for these communities," State Sen. Jean Leising said in the release.

Construction finishes in stages, and some homes outside the build area will not be included.

For rural homes without wired options, the three satellite choices are Starlink, Viasat and Hughesnet. Starlink’s U.S. residential plans were listed at $55 (100 Mbps), $85 (200 Mbps) and $130 (Max) a month in October 2026. Customers who order Viasat through RSINC are guaranteed at least 80 Mbps download; upload speeds can reach 3 to 5 Mbps, but are not guaranteed. Check the current plan and equipment terms for your address. Hughesnet is the most widely available fallback and works anywhere with a clear view of the southern sky.

What to do next

  • Check your address at spectrumruralexpansion.com or by ZIP before you cancel your current service.
  • Ask about installation timing; new rural lines often need a technician visit.
  • If you are switching from satellite, check your current plan's contract or early cancellation terms first.
