If you have Mediacom's Variety TV package, you now get ESPN Unlimited at no extra charge. Mediacom announced the change on October 6, 2026. It means you can stream ESPN's full lineup in the ESPN app on your Xtream box, phone, smart TV, game console or computer by signing in with your Mediacom account. Here's what's included, how to turn it on and what it's worth.

Which Mediacom customers get it

Mediacom's TV page lists two packages: Local TV (50+ channels) and Variety TV (170+ channels). Only Variety TV carries the "ESPN Unlimited is now included" note. Mediacom's fine print adds:

  • You must be 18 or older to redeem it.
  • It's one offer per eligible account.
  • You keep it only while you stay on an eligible plan. If you cancel Variety TV or switch to a package that doesn't qualify, ESPN Unlimited ends when that plan ends.

Mediacom doesn't list Variety TV prices on its TV page, so check the price for your address before you upgrade from Local TV.

How to watch ESPN Unlimited with Mediacom

On the Mediacom Xtream1 box

  1. Say "ESPN App" into your Xtream1 voice remote.
  2. Or press the TiVo button, then go to Apps & Games, open the Google Play Store and search for ESPN.
  3. Open the app and sign in with your Mediacom credentials when it asks.

On a phone, smart TV, console or browser

  1. Open the ESPN app or ESPN.com and choose to sign in with your TV provider.
  2. Pick Mediacom from the provider list and enter your Mediacom username and password.
  3. Sign in to (or create) the MyDisney account ESPN uses, then follow the prompts to activate ESPN Unlimited.

The second set of steps follows ESPN's general sign-in process for TV providers, so the exact screens may differ slightly. Mediacom's own guide on watching Mediacom on your phone covers its other apps.

Already pay for ESPN? Check before you're charged twice

Mediacom's fine print says that for existing ESPN subscribers, this is an additional ESPN subscription. It won't replace or cancel one you already pay for, and the two accounts are managed separately. If you subscribe to ESPN directly, through a Disney bundle or through another service, decide whether you still need it. Canceling an ESPN plan you don't need could save up to $31.99 a month.

For a sports fan who would otherwise buy ESPN Unlimited monthly, that's about $384 a year in value. That makes Variety TV more attractive for sports households. Before upgrading, though, compare the price difference between Local TV and Variety TV at your address against that $31.99 a month.
