JustWatch TV Launches: Free Movies, $3.99 Ad-Free Plus and a Rental Store

JustWatch is adding free ad-supported movies and shows, a paid ad-free tier and rentals to its streaming guide. JustWatch's own catalog pages still label the service beta, so check the app or website for the titles available in your location.

What JustWatch TV includes

• JustWatch TV (free): a selection of ad-supported movies and shows.
• JustWatch TV Plus: $3.99 a month or $49.99 for a lifetime subscription, with an ad-free catalog and guide extras like advanced filters and hiding titles you've seen or disliked.
• JustWatch TV Store: movie rentals, starting in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Plus members get 10% off hundreds of rentals.

The free and paid catalogs may change. Browse the current JustWatch TV listings before deciding whether the Plus subscription has enough titles for you.

Where it's available

JustWatch lists its free, Plus and rental offerings on its U.S. website. Availability and titles can differ by country.

How it compares with other free streamers

The free tier competes with ad-supported services like Tubi, Plex and The Roku Channel's free live channels. The Plus tier costs less than many full-catalog subscriptions, but compare the actual titles before paying. If you're building a no-cost lineup, also look at Rakuten TV's free channels in the U.S..

What internet speed you need

Free streamers are light on bandwidth compared with 4K sports. A steady connection matters more than a headline speed claim for one HD stream. If several people watch at once, test Wi-Fi at each screen. Ad-supported streams can buffer at ad breaks on a weak Wi-Fi signal, so a TV near the router or on Ethernet helps. Roku owners can find it alongside the rest of their apps on the new Roku OS 16 home screen.
