Is AT&T All-Fi Pro Worth It?
Updated

AT&T All-Fi Pro is worth it for some households and an easy skip for others. It costs $25 a month on AT&T Fiber plans of 1 GIG and below, and it's included at no extra cost on AT&T's multi-gig plans. For that, you get a Wi-Fi 7 gateway, mesh extenders and AT&T's advanced ActiveArmor security. Here's exactly what's included, what each piece would cost on its own, and who should pay for it.
All-Fi Pro costs $25/mo on AT&T Fiber plans of 1 GIG and below and is included at no extra cost on multi-gig plans. It bundles a Wi-Fi 7 gateway, mesh extenders and advanced ActiveArmor security. It's worth it if you'd otherwise pay for both AT&T's extender service ($12/mo) and advanced security ($7/mo). Skip it if your home is small or you already own a mesh system.

Is it a good deal compared with buying pieces separately?
AT&T also sells the pieces on their own. Its Extended Wi-Fi Coverage service is listed at $12/mo and its advanced ActiveArmor security at $7/mo, or $19 a month together. So the Pro bundle costs about $6 a month more than those two add-ons and adds the Wi-Fi 7 gateway and the upgrade program. If you'd buy both add-ons anyway, Pro is a reasonable value. If you need only one, it isn't.
| Option | Monthly cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| All-Fi Pro | $25 (included on multi-gig) | Wi-Fi 7 gateway, up to 5 mesh extenders, advanced ActiveArmor, equipment upgrade program |

Basic All-Fi, AT&T's standard Wi-Fi experience with the Smart Home Manager app, comes free with AT&T Fiber, so you aren't stuck without Wi-Fi management if you skip Pro.
Who should get All-Fi Pro
- Large or multi-story homes where one gateway can't cover every room, and you want AT&T to supply and support the mesh.
- Families who will use the content controls and the home VPN.
- People who don't want to manage their own equipment and like getting upgrades on a schedule.
- Multi-gig customers: it's included, so make sure it's turned on.
Who can skip it
- Apartments and smaller homes where the standard gateway already reaches every room.
- People who already own a good mesh system. You can't replace AT&T's gateway, but you can connect your own router or mesh behind it. Learn more in does the AT&T Wi-Fi extender work with any router?
- Anyone without Wi-Fi 7 devices who doesn't need the extenders or security features.
Buying your own mesh costs more up front but no monthly fee. For options, see an affordable Wi-Fi 7 mesh system and dual-band Wi-Fi 7 routers.
