How Do I Check My HughesNet Signal?

You have several options for checking your HughesNet signal but first check the dish outside to see that it’s securely installed, has a clear line of sight to the Southern sky, and look for a strength meter on if your dish is equipped with one and then tweak your alignment to improve strength. Beyond this you can run a speed test but first take all but your main device offline so that you get the most accurate results about your signal speed. Having more than one device online at once can change the data. Here are options for troubleshooting:

Call customer service at 1 (866) 347-3292 to ask if you need to reposition your dish. You can also ask if they can switch your signal to a different satellite. You might also consider buying a satellite signal strength meter that would connect to the cable under the Low-Noise Block downconverter, or LNB, on the dish. The meter will read the signal strength. They run from about $15 to $200 on the higher end.
