Four small Oklahoma towns now have fiber internet available. On October 22, 2026, the Oklahoma Broadband Office announced that Dobson Fiber has finished its final three projects funded by the federal American Rescue Plan Act Capital Projects Fund (ARPA CPF).

Who gets fiber

The three projects bring fiber-optic internet to 407 homes and businesses in and around:

  • Canute and Foss
  • Headrick
  • Keota

Dobson received about $623,869 for the three projects. Each town has fewer than 1,000 residents, according to Mike Sanders, executive director of the Oklahoma Broadband Office. With construction done, homes and businesses in the project areas can now order fiber service.

How to check your address

The project areas don't cover every rural address around these towns. Check with Dobson Fiber directly, or look up your address on the Oklahoma Broadband Office's Internet Availability Map to see which providers serve you.

Why fiber matters here

Fiber offers much higher speeds than DSL or fixed wireless, with fast uploads and low latency. That makes video calls, telehealth visits, school work and streaming more reliable. It's also less affected by weather than satellite or wireless service.

If fiber doesn't reach you: other options

If the project does not cover your address, check fixed wireless, cable and satellite availability at the address level. Starlink, Viasat and Hughesnet may be options in rural Oklahoma, but availability, speeds, equipment charges and plan terms vary by address. Confirm the complete offer before ordering.
