Breezeline's parent, Cogeco Communications, reported elevated U.S. customer losses for its fiscal fourth quarter ended August 31, 2026. Its October 28 results release described a challenging competitive environment and a lower subscriber base. For a customer deciding whether to stay, the useful next step is to compare the actual bill, service performance and alternatives at the home.

What Cogeco actually reported

Cogeco said revenue in its American telecommunications segment fell 4.6% from the comparable quarter a year earlier, or 6.6% on a constant-currency basis. It attributed the decline mainly to a lower subscriber base, more customers taking internet-only service, and competition. Those revenue percentages are not percentages of households cancelling service.

The company described wireless, its welo digital brand, a new television streaming product and additional sales channels as parts of its response. These are company initiatives, not a statement that every current customer automatically receives a new plan or discount.

What the results mean for your account

A company-wide financial report does not tell you that your particular connection will stop or that your own price has changed. Check notices addressed to your account, the current bill and your service agreement. Do not interpret subscriber losses as proof that a market has closed, or assume a new competitor serves your street.

Our Breezeline provider guide can help you begin comparing service. Confirm any details with the provider for the full street and unit address before placing an order.

Review the total bill before switching

  • Write down the current recurring charge and when any introductory offer ends.
  • Separate internet service from equipment, television, phone, taxes and other fees.
  • Check cancellation obligations, equipment-return requirements and any costs of changing a bundle.
  • If a competing offer looks cheaper, compare the regular rate after its promotional period and all required equipment or installation charges.

You can ask whether a different plan or current offer fits your needs. A lower retention price is not assured, and an offer may involve different conditions. Get the complete terms rather than relying on a headline discount.

Test a replacement before cancelling

Check whether an alternative is cable, fiber, fixed wireless or satellite, then compare the upload needs and performance your household actually requires. Confirm property eligibility, installation, wireless signal or sky visibility as appropriate. Keep the existing connection until the replacement is working with essential devices.

A ZIP search is an initial screening step. It does not establish service at every address, a particular speed or a specific saving. The subscriber news is a reason to review your options carefully, not a forecast for your individual account.
