Black Friday Internet Deals 2026: What's Real and When ISP Promos Actually Drop

Updated

Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, and internet providers will run holiday promotions around it, but they rarely look like the doorbuster discounts you see on TVs. An internet provider almost never cuts its regular monthly rate in half for a weekend. What changes is the extras: prepaid gift cards, bill credits, free months, a free speed upgrade, or a longer price guarantee stacked on top of the promo rate the provider was already advertising.

That doesn't make the deals fake. It means the smartest move is to judge a holiday offer by what you'll pay over the next two years, not by the size of the card in the ad. Here is how the season usually works, what's on the table right now, and a simple test for deciding whether to switch.

Key dates for holiday internet shopping in 2026

  • Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 26
  • Black Friday: Friday, November 27
  • Cyber Monday: Monday, November 30
  • Typical window: most ISP holiday offers post in early to mid-November and many run into December, so you rarely need to order on Friday morning.

Internet installs also get busier in late November and December. If you need service on a specific date, for a move or before holiday guests arrive, book early and confirm the install appointment before you cancel your current provider.

What ISP holiday deals usually look like

Prepaid cards and gift cards

The most common holiday incentive is a prepaid card or retailer gift card issued after your service is installed. Read three things in the fine print: how long after activation the card arrives, whether you must keep service for a set number of days to keep it, and whether its value is charged back if you cancel early. Cards also expire, so put the arrival and expiration dates on your calendar.

Bill credits and free months

Some providers prefer to discount the bill instead of mailing a card. Credits can stop if you change plans or cancel a bundled line, and a "free month" is usually applied as a credit on a later statement rather than skipping your first bill.

Free upgrades and price locks

A free jump to a faster tier for the promo period, or a multi-year price guarantee, can be worth more than a one-time card. A guarantee usually covers the base internet rate only; taxes, fees, equipment you add later, and add-on services are typically excluded.

See which providers serve your address

Holiday offers only matter if the provider is available at your home. Start with your ZIP code, then compare the price after the promo ends.

What's on the table right now (as of October 1, 2026)

You don't have to wait until November to find a decent offer. A quick look at major provider websites on October 1 shows the kinds of deals already running. Holiday versions may add a card or credit on top of offers like these:

  • Xfinity: 300 Mbps for $45 a month, 500 Mbps for $60, or 1 Gig for $70, each with a 5-Year Price Guarantee, WiFi equipment and unlimited data included, and no annual contract. Autopay and paperless billing are required, and the listed offer ends October 25.
  • Spectrum: 100 Mbps for $30 a month, 500 Mbps for $40, or 1 Gig for $60 for the first year, then standard rates. Spectrum advertises no contracts, no data caps, and a modem included with every plan.
  • Verizon Fios: 3- or 5-year price guarantees on eligible plans, with online-only Amazon gift card offers on select tiers.
  • T-Mobile Fiber: a 5-Year Price Guarantee on eligible plans, plus limited-time prepaid card and free-month promotions in its fiber markets.

All of these depend on your address, and prices exclude taxes and fees. Treat them as a baseline: if a Black Friday version of the same plan only adds a small card, today's offer may be just as good.

A simple 24-month test for any holiday offer

Gift cards are one-time money. A higher monthly bill costs you every month. To compare fairly, add up what you'd actually pay over 24 months:

  1. Multiply the promo price by the number of promo months.
  2. Multiply the regular price by the remaining months up to 24.
  3. Add equipment, Wi-Fi rental, installation, and any activation fees.
  4. Subtract the value of the gift card or credits you'll realistically receive.
  5. Compare that total with what you'd pay staying put, including any early termination fee for leaving.

If the new plan only wins because of the card, and it costs more every month after the promo ends, it isn't a deal. If the new plan is faster, cheaper after the promo, or locks a price for years, the card is a bonus.

Red flags to watch for

  • The headline offer isn't available at your address. A card from a provider that doesn't serve your home is worth nothing.
  • No regular price shown. Ask what the plan costs in month 13 and month 25. The FCC Broadband Facts label at checkout must show introductory and regular rates.
  • Short-fuse countdown timers. Many holiday promos run for weeks. Don't let a timer push you into a plan you haven't priced out.
  • Required add-ons. Some offers need a mobile line, TV package, or premium Wi-Fi add-on to qualify. Price the whole bundle.

Already a customer? You can still save

Most holiday cards are for new customers, but current customers have leverage too. Check what your provider is offering new sign-ups at your address, then call and ask whether you can move to a current plan or get a loyalty credit. If a competitor serves your home, mention its offer specifically. If your promo is ending soon, that call is worth making whether or not it's Black Friday.
