Alberta Satellite Rebate: Eligible Hardware, Exclusions and Common Questions
Updated

Alberta's Satellite Rebate Program pays up to $1,000, but only for certain costs. Here's what counts, so your claim doesn't get rejected.
Covered
- Eligible low-Earth-orbit satellite hardware bought from an authorized seller
- Installation supplies and services
- Applicable taxes on those items
Not covered
- Monthly internet charges
- Hardware rental fees
- Optional Wi-Fi equipment, such as mesh add-ons
- Business connections
Which Starlink kit?
The current authorized-seller list identifies Starlink equipment as meeting the program's speed and latency requirements of 50/10 Mbps and 50 ms or less. The sources we reviewed don't say whether every Starlink model is eligible, including the Mini. Check the official equipment list before you buy.
Avoid a rejected claim
- Buy from an authorized seller, not a used marketplace listing.
- Keep itemized receipts.
- Buy between August 11, 2026 and March 31, 2027.
- Apply only after your first month of service.
Frequently asked questions
Is Starlink Mini eligible?
Not confirmed. Check Alberta's authorized equipment list before you buy.
Can I claim a mesh Wi-Fi add-on?
No. Optional Wi-Fi equipment is excluded.
Is a used dish eligible?
Equipment has to be bought from an authorized seller, so a private used sale likely won't qualify.
