123NET Michigan BEAD Fiber: Counties, Construction and Address Checks

123NET announced approximately $86 million in BEAD funding on October 28, 2026. The company plans roughly 1,700 route miles of fiber reaching 17,000 BEAD-funded addresses, within a broader expansion of 49,300 addresses.

Where the projects are planned

The company's county list is Allegan, Barry, Calhoun, Eaton, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Kent, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Ottawa and Washtenaw. This is a list of project counties, not a promise that every property in them will receive service.

Ask 123NET to check the specific address and project before making plans to switch. A county boundary or a ZIP match alone cannot establish eligibility. Keep any registration confirmation and ask how the provider will notify you when an address becomes orderable.

Construction timing and state funding

123NET targets early 2027 for these BEAD projects to begin. That is a construction target, not an activation date for each home.

Michigan's October 19 announcement names 123NET among 23 signed subgrantees. The state reports $916 million in federal funds plus $531 million in private matching investment for nearly 200,000 locations statewide. It gives subgrantees four years from signing to complete projects and says five additional provisionally selected providers were expected to sign.

The statewide totals cover the broader program; they are not 123NET's individual award. Our Michigan BEAD agreements guide covers that separate context.

What to ask before switching

  • Is my exact address in this project, and is service actually ready to order?
  • Is the date a construction estimate, an installation appointment or a confirmed activation?
  • What are the current plan, equipment, installation, tax and renewal charges?
  • Are there construction permissions, access arrangements or equipment requirements for my property?

The announcement does not establish a retail price or installation schedule for every household. Keep your existing connection until a replacement is installed and working if you need continuous access.

Internet options while you wait

Compare currently orderable cable, fiber, fixed wireless and satellite offers at your address. Our Starlink pricing guide explains why a reported price or nearby customer's bill is not your quote. Our satellite comparison and Michigan provider directory offer additional background.

ZIP screening does not confirm coverage. Satellite options require suitable equipment and sky access; wireless options depend on signal and capacity. Confirm address eligibility, data policies, expected performance and all current charges directly before ordering. No provider or plan guarantees uninterrupted service.

Frequently asked questions

Does a listed county mean my home is covered?

No. Ask 123NET whether the specific property is in the project and ready for an order.

Does a construction target guarantee an installation date?

No. Obtain an address-specific service or installation confirmation before relying on a date.

Is there one published price for all these addresses?

This announcement does not establish one. Request the current offer and complete charges for your property.

Should I cancel existing internet now?

Confirm that the replacement is installed and working first if you need continuous connectivity.

Can I compare other providers while waiting?

Yes. Check exact-address eligibility and compare equipment, data policies and full charges.
