The hibernation plan is a plan for Viasat customers who plan to be away from their residence for multiple months at a time. There is the option to suspend your Viasat internet up to 6 months in any 12 month period. This is a much cheaper alternative than having to pay for the service without being at home to enjoy it. If you move between residences or go on an extended family vacation then you don't have to worry about the money you will be losing by not enjoying it, you can just change to the hibernation modplan. It will be $9.99 a month plus your monthly lease fee to keep your account active until you return from wherever it is that you want to go. Right after you switch to the hibernation plan, your service will become restricted and will not be able to be used for most activities. Your total Viasat bill might be more than $9.99 a month depending on which additional services are on your account and all other Viasat services will be charged at their normal rate. Viasat Voice does not have a hibernation option so your phone service will continue to work even when Viasat is in hibernation mode.
