Is Viasat better than HughesNet?

Yes, Viasat is better than HughesNet.
Viasat has faster speeds, higher data caps, better pricing for faster speeds and more plan options. Viasat and HughesNet are the only 2 major satellite internet providers in this field which makes decisions much easier. HughesNet offers 4 different plans to customers with them having data caps at 10, 20, 30 and 50GB’s each. The prices for these plans start at $59.99 for the 10GB plan and go up to $69.99, $99.99 and $150 a month respectively with all download speeds at 25 Mbps. If you are a person who owns multiple devices with multiple people using the internet you will need the most expensive plan and it is possible that won’t even be enough data to use. Viasat on the other hand, has data caps ranging from 12GBs to 150GBs which is 3 times higher than what Hughes offers. The prices for those plans range from $30 to $150 a month with options between unlimited and limited which HughesNet does not have. Something worth mentioning as well is that the unlimited plans still have a data cap on them so that customers do not abuse the network. When the customer reaches their data cap their service will be throttled and will become much slower. If this happens and there is still a large portion of the month left, it would be better to buy a large amount of data which HughesNet does not have in their plans.
