Does Viasat Require a Contract?

Does Viasat Require a Contract?
Viasat requires a 24-month contract for satellite internet service, unless you choose the Viasat Month-to-Month Service Term Option and pay the Viasat No Long-Term Contract Option fee.

Does Viasat Require a Contract Early-Termination Fee?
If you terminate your Viasat broadband internet service before your contract ends, you will owe an early-termination fee of $15/month for each month remaining on your contract. The charge is applied to the credit card, debit card or bank account associated with your Viasat account.
If you choose the Viasat No Long-Term Contract Option, when you sign up for a Viasat satellite internet plan, you pay a No Long-Term Contract Fee of $300 as part of your first month’s bill. With payment of this fee, you may cancel your Viasat internet service any time after the first month without paying a Viasat early termination fee.
If you are on the fence about committing to being at the same address for 24-months, do the math and decide if the No Long-Term Contract Option or the early termination fee of $15/month for each month left on your contract will be more advantageous for you.

Does Viasat Require a Contract Renewal to Move Internet Service?

If you move, and the change requires you to get upgraded Viasat equipment or requires a Viasat service call to your new address, you must commit to a new 24-month Viasat satellite internet contract.
You can move anywhere in the United States, and easily take your Viasat satellite internet service with you since Viasat internet is delivered via satellite beams. Unlike cable, fiber, DSL and fixed wireless internet, Viasat high-speed internet is not confined to select regions by infrastructure.

Does Viasat Require a Contract Renewal When the Original Contract Ends?

Once a Viasat customer completes the 24-month contract, the Viasat service plan renews automatically on a month-to-month basis.

Viasat Internet Plan Upgrades:

If you change your Viasat satellite internet plan and the change requires you to get upgraded Viasat equipment or if it requires a service call by a Viasat technician, you must commit to a new 24-month service agreement.

Viasat Internet Plan Downgrades:

When you get Viasat internet service, you choose an internet plan defined by a download speed and a data threshold. Following activation, if you decide you need less internet speed or data, you must stay with the initial internet service plan for at least 30 days before downgrading your service.
